HOW WE WORK
Our Approach
We engage and interact with all our stakeholders to spread awareness and take proactive actions to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. We follow the below steps in identifying the right solution for each of our clients:
Expert assessment of the ship
Technology integrations and deep dive assessments
Connecting to the cloud and model evaluation
Presenting smart solutions for reporting and maintenance
Our solution
Fleet Optimisation Initiatives
Our dedicated team of performance experts aims to tackle challenges to make voyages more predictable and prioritise adherence to changing environmental regulations. Through live data and machinery performance monitoring we deliver on CP, CII and EU ETS requirements while optimising your assets alongside studies on weather, energy saving devices and more.
Our solution
Voyage Optimisation Initiatives
Our ability to achieve voyage KPIs of operators is backed by observed reductions in fuel consumption of up to 3%, notable time savings and lower overall emissions.
We provide daily monitoring and updates through key account managers to facilitate enhanced transparency. Crews are also trained in how to leverage data, creating opportunities for continuous feedback.
Evaluation of energy saving devices and anti-fouling paints
Background and action taken:
Based on the data available for the whole fleet, FPC has provided Ship Owners with recommendations on the most optimal paint coating which can be applied in relation to the vessel speed, drafts and operational profile. This has assisted Owners in making more informed decisions when planning to invest in high value paints or energy saving devices.
Results:
A performance improvement of about 35% from pre-docking phase was seen in one specific case which also elevated the vessel’s CII and Rightship GHG Emission ratings.
Optimisation of Auxillary Engine Usage
Background and action taken:
FPC observed a vessel running additional auxillary engines at sea which was causing unnecessarily high temperatures. Based on this information, the auxillary engines were optimised to reduce the load and therefore eliminate the need for the running of one auxillary engine.
Results:
A fuel cost saving of about 85 MT (about 6% reduction) was obtained over 5 months by optimising the use of the auxillary engine.
Voyage Optimisation with FOS
Background and action taken:
All vessels fitted with Fleet Optimisation Solution (FOS) are monitored by FPC for voyage optimisation. The Masters are provided with proactive suggestions to improve voyage efficiency by leveraging available data and experience within the Company.
Results:
Voyage optimisation has helped to save about 350 MT of fuel on a fleet of 39 bulk carriers and 2,330 MT across the whole fleet this year (as of Aug 2023).
